As a weird bonus, it smells like mustard when you cut into it! The Bocote wood pen barrel is banded in with polished aluminum and red resin. The red resin has a touch of black in it, mirroring the black grain patterns of the Bocote. The pen barrel has a durable, glossy CA finish, so no worries no mustard smell for you!
