Framed French carved bas relief meerschaum religious sculptures of Jesus and Mary in their individual Black ebonized oval wood frames with convex glass covers. c. 1880's These were popular in Roman Catholic Europe in the late 19th c. The frames are ebonized which was popular at the time. They always had convex glass covers in the frame to keep the sculptures clean. Approx. Dimensions: Height: 5 1 2" Width: 4 1 2"
