Pupil of Paul Brown an Henry Elkins, Chicago. George Howell Gay exhibited at the National Academy of Design in 1890; Boston Art Club, 1890 1900; and Boston Art Club, 1897. He died in New York in 1931. Unusually, this painting retains it's original frame & matte.
